My wife is a multi-talented artist. She wanted to have her own space where she could do her artistry. We have a huge house with semi-basement, main floor, and upper floors, but none of the existing rooms fit her needs. We looked upstairs to an unfinished area that contained years of stuff that we should have dumped. We decided to build there.
We contacted three builders to get an idea of what it would take to satisfy her. Chad Lipps came in with enough credentials and demeanor to convince us to go with his bid. The original price was reasonable, but as we began with the project we kept adding enhancements as the cost escalated, none of Chad's fault. From a one room addition we moved to a grand scale that contained about 800 square feet of finished air conditioned space plus over 400 square feet of storage areas.
When done, we had the Alcove, The Loft, and the Studio with a small bathroom. I cannot show photographs of the finished Studio and the Loft because my wife wants to keep it private. Here are some in-progress shots of the studio with the bathroom and kitchenette:
The one room that is essentially mine is the Loft. Here is a view of the Loft and a limited view of the Alcove:
We are happy with the results. Chad and his main subcontractor Curtis have been good in delivering the product. Curtis is an excellent craftsman who does plumbing, electrical, carpentry, flooring, and much more. I am now asking Chad again to do a custom job on rebuilding part of a front deck and a bridge that connects the deck to the front yard.
Bob & Mary Holt -
After retiring and moving to AZ from WI, in September of 2011, my dream of restoring my Little British Sports car, that I have owned since the age of 18, was finally going to happen. A garage addition/work shop was part of the retirement plan.
I received quotes from 3 different contractors and chose All Jobs Construction; due to Chad Lipps' suggestions on things to consider before proceeding. My original design, of which I gave to each contractor, was to duplicate the existing garage and follow the existing roof ridge line. Chad suggested that we look at putting the roof line of the new garage addition, perpendicular to the existing house roof line. The design of our house has the roof ridge line of the front porch and the 2 large front windows, perpendicular to the main house roof line.
The 2 other contractors quoted exactly on the specifications as I gave them. Only Chad thought outside of the box and gave my wife and me some options. Just before making a decision on which company to go with, I had an unexpected roof problem, which ate into my garage build budget. I asked each contractor what I had to forgo to stay within a budget figure. Again Chad gave me the best set of options to meet that budget and not sacrifice too much on my original wish list. Therefore he was the contractor I selected. I have not been disappointed.
Other than a few agreed upon changes and additions that I made along the way during the construction process, I was able to come in a little over my original budget. The sub contractors that Chad used were all very professional and the work was performed with quality in mind, ensuring code requirements were met. I would recommend All Jobs Construction for work that you are considering. In looking at the finished garage/work shop addition, I know I made the right decision to go with them and would use them again. Mary and Bob H.
